25 Things to Do in Middle Tennessee This Weekend: Sept 4-6, 2026
This weekend in Middle Tennessee (September 4 to 6, 2026), the biggest draws are John Deere Touch A Tractor at Breeden's Orchard in Mt. Juliet, the 5th Annual Hope & Recovery Fest in Lebanon, and first-Friday art crawls in both Murfreesboro and Franklin. Twenty-five events span Wilson, Davidson, Rutherford, and Williamson counties over Labor Day weekend, and 14 are free.
Labor Day weekend in Wilson County is quieter than you would expect. The fair is packed up, Cumberland is on a bye, and the Capitol has nothing on the board until the 10th. What is left is the good small stuff: tractors parked out at Breeden's for kids to climb on, the market on the porch at Circle P Friday evening, and a free community fest on Leeville Pike Saturday morning. If you want a bigger night out, both Murfreesboro and Franklin run their art crawls on the same Friday, and Ascend has Lee Brice downtown Saturday.
Wilson County: Lebanon, Mt. Juliet & Watertown
Wilson is running on farm events and community gatherings this weekend, which is honestly my favorite version of it.
Story Time at Breeden's Orchard

Thirty minutes to an hour outdoors with the little ones, and then you are already at the orchard with the rest of the morning open. Breeden's runs this one both Friday and Saturday.
Vendors on Main

Twenty-plus makers on the porch at the old 1930s store on East Main, with Oliver Steele playing and Roasted Coconut parked out front. It runs 4:00 to 7:00, and the last hour is the good one once the heat breaks. Free to walk through, but bring a card for the vendors.
Smashville Open 2026

A Mid-East rated sport karate tournament taking over MJMS for the day. If you have never watched one, the divisions run all morning and it is a long day for competitors, so check the schedule before you drive out for a specific ring.
5th Annual Hope & Recovery Fest

DrugFree WilCo kicks off National Recovery Month with resource tables and people telling their own stories. It runs 10 to 2, it is free, and it is open to all ages. This is the kind of Saturday morning event that tells you more about Lebanon than any brochure will.

John Deere Touch A Tractor

Real John Deere equipment parked and open for kids to climb on, honk, and sit in. Saturday runs 9 to 9 and Sunday 9 to 5, so there is no reason to fight the midday crowd. Beckwith Road gets narrow near the entrance, so take it slow coming in. This is the single best family thing happening in Wilson County this weekend.

Davidson County: Nashville things to do in Middle Tennessee this weekend
Metro Parks has a genuinely good free lineup this weekend, and there are two large ticketed shows downtown if you want the other kind of night.
Afternoon Tea at Shelby Bottoms

Lee Brice, Gabby Barrett, and Payton Smith outdoors at Ascend on a Saturday of a holiday weekend. Downtown parking on a night like this is its own event, so budget for a garage or take the bus in. Rutherford County: Murfreesboro, Smyrna & La Vergne
Murfreesboro has the strongest Saturday of the four counties, and almost all of it is free.

This one only happens every other month, so catching it is worth the drive down 840. Shops, galleries, and pop-ups around the Square open up with artists on site and live demonstrations. Park once on the Square and walk the whole thing.
Hummingbird Festival

Bird banding starts at 8 and everything else opens at 10, with food trucks and local vendors. Free for all ages. Between this and Warner Park, Middle Tennessee is having a hummingbird weekend.

Lotz House Ghost Tour
